Welcome to Wallingford, RAGBRAI riders!  Since our neighbors at Estherville are predicting a "blizzard" on July 25th and 26th, we're happy to announce that it will be warm in Wallingford.  The Wallingford Wheelers are rolling out the red carpet for you, and we're looking forward to seeing you in July.

What is the bike route into and out of Wallingford?

Riders will enter Wallingford from the south on Iowa Highway 4, turn right (east) at St. James Avenue, and continue on St. James Avenue through town and out of town.

What food will be available and where?

Monday night, July 25: Pork loin sandwiches with chips and baked beans ($3.00), Bar S hot dogs ($1.00), 16 oz. Bud Lite and Miller Lite ($3.00), 16 oz. Bloody Marys and lemonade/vodkas ($3.00) at The Pub on St. James Ave.  Shuttle service from Estherville to Wallingford will be available beginning at 5:00 p.m. and going every half hour after that.  Shuttle service pickup in Estherville will be at the parking lot at 511 1st Ave. South (near the fire station).  Drop off will be at The Pub in Wallingford.

Tuesday morning and forenoon, July 26: Chris' Cakes Pancake breakfast served from 5:00a.m. until ? at the Fire Station on St. James Ave.; breakfast burritos ($3.00) at The Pub from 6:00 a.m. - 11:30 a.m.; bagels and juice at Colsrud residence at top of the hill east of town; breakfast burritos served by the Lutheran Church at 5:30 a.m.

What entertainment is planned and when?

Monday, July 25:  Beer garden from noon Monday to 2 a.m. Tuesday at The Pub on St. James Ave. (See above for shuttle service information.)

Monday night, July 25: D.J. at The Pub on St. James Ave. beginning at 6:00 p.m.  (See above for shuttle service information.) 

Tuesday morning and forenoon, July 26: Beer Garden at The Pub from 6:00 a.m.- 11:30 a.m.; Bloody Mary Buffet at The Pub from 6:00 a.m. - 11:30 a.m.; local piano player along St. James Ave throughout the forenoon

Where can water bottles be filled free?

Wallingford Fire Station; Wallingford Community Center; The Pub-- all on St. James Ave.

How can riders contact and find emergency services in our town?

Personnel at the Wallingford Fire Station will be on hand to summon emergency medical help via radio; first aid will also be available at the station.

Will phones be available and where?

There is an outside pay phone at the Wallingford Post Office on St. James Ave.

Where are the portable toilets located?

At the corner of St. James Ave and First Street; at The Pub

Shirts will be displayed at the Wallingford Fire Station and at The Pub; postage paid envelopes will be provided so shirts can be mailed to home addresses.
